In a game long-awaited by Blue Lights College fans and players, the Thoroughbreds will play in their first-ever conference contest when they tip off at Mid-Atlantic Christian Saturday at 3:00 pm.

The game will count in the New South Athletic Conference standings leading to the season-ending NSAC Championship. It's the first time in the four-year history of BLC that the regular season games will have added meaning.

“Our program is so excited for the New South Athletic Conference that we've been trying to put together for a while now,” BLC men’s basketball coach Mario Pharr said. “Conference affiliation will benefit the college in stepping toward our goals. Even more beneficial for the players will be the accolades for them to achieve throughout the season.”

The MACU Mustangs were a last-minute addition to the NSAC when all other members of the Eastern Metro Athletic Conference canceled their seasons due to COVID-19 concerns and restrictions. Likewise, active NSAC member schools had shrunk to three when Thomas Nelson Community College announced they were also halting all athletic activities for the year.

The Herd opens the home portion of their season next Tuesday January 26 when they host University Prep. Due to governmental COVID restrictions, no fans will be allowed in attendance, but all home games will be streamed live on bluelightsthoroughbreds.com and the Mascot Media app.
