It took a few minutes for the Thoroughbreds to get used to the unfamiliar surroundings. Strangely enough, it was their own home floor. But after a back-and-forth first half, Blue Lights pulled away after the break to record their fourth straight preseason victory 115-86 over Mount Zion Post Grad on Tuesday night.

It was the first game most of the young Thoroughbreds had ever played at Hope Community Church Apex as their first three contests had been on the road, and they practice at Apex Baptist Church a few miles away. The new environs, coupled with the myriad of lines on the multi-purpose court, provided the perfect opportunity for members of both teams to misjudge the baselines and turn the ball over time and time again in the first half. But once the Herd got its bearings, it had too much offensive firepower for the Warriors to contain.

Anthony Hill, Jr. once again led the scoring charge pouring in 19 points. Jawan Browder came of the bench to contribute 17, Kenny Anderson, Jr. and Chance Jamison each added 13, JB Ezzell-Upchurch had 12, and Terrence Johnson chipped in 11. All 14 players saw action and all scored except starting point guard Darian Williams.

The Thoroughbreds' next game will be back at Hope Community Church to begin the regular season hosting American National on October 29.
