Anthony Hill Jr. poured in a game-high 31 points and fellow freshman Chance Jamison added 20 to lead BLC to a 118-64 preseason win over U-nique All Stars Academy Saturday afternoon in Knightdale.
The Thoroughbreds opened up an early margin and kept the Wolves at bay with a stifling defense in the first test of the season for the young squad.
"It's alright," contemplated head coach Mario Pharr after the game. "Got a lot to tweak, but overall pretty good." Pharr was more pleased with the attitude his players displayed, saying the team has grown tight knit since the first day of practice. "We're definitely honing in on togetherness. We're family now."
Hill stuffed the stats with five rebounds, six assists, seven steals and a block.
Kenny Anderson, Jr. added 14 points in the effort. Terrence "TJ" Johnson scored 13, and Yak Yak chipped in 10.
The Thoroughbreds' next preseason scrimmage is next Saturday against Carolina Basketball Academy in Elizabeth City.
