The Blue Lights College women's basketball team made its first home appearance ever Tuesday night to an appreciative crowd at Hope Community Church Apex .

The outcome, a 93-40 scrimmage loss to Guilford Tech, was inconsequential. The evening was about showing the shiny new women's team some Apex love, and they returned it with their most improved performance of the year.

"It was a big improvement between the Salem game and tonight," said player-coach Madison Jordan. "We played together well. Our ball movement was very good. We came out in the second half believing we could play with (Guilford)."

Kelsey Holloway led BLC with 16 points.

The first Lady Thoroughbreds countable game comes up next Monday October 4 at Mid-Atlantic Christian.
