When you're hot, you're hot. Blue Lights WAS hot in the opening half Tuesday night, but the flip side of that old saying is equally true, and the Thoroughbreds shooting went cold after intermission as Central Carolina caught up and pulled away for an 84-58 win in Sanford.

Jorge Garcia led the charge in the first half, pouring in 18 points, half of them from beyond the arc. The Herd led 43-36 headed to the locker room.

But the second stanza was not as much fun for the Thoroughbreds as the first. CCCC found its shooting touch while BLC lost its, going for five minutes at one stretch without a point to allow the Cougars to take control and claim their fourth straight win in the series.

Garcia only accounted for six points in the second half to finish with 24. Zach Haney came of the bench to score 10 points, the only other Light in double figures. The 58 team points tied the lowest output all season, tying the low water mark set in the loss at then-ninth ranked Apprentice on November 10.

Rodney Alston led CCCC with 18 points.

Blue Lights visits #3 Stratford next Monday, then returns to Apex for its final home game on Tuesday against Appalachian Bible.
