2018-19 Thoroughbreds Basketball Slate Set

BLC LOOK TO STAMPEDE THRU THE 2018-19 SEASON

APEX, N. C. – The Blue Lights College men’s basketball program announced its 2018-19 schedule, featuring 28 regular season games, including 6 home dates.

The Thoroughbreds will open the campaign at Wright State University- Lake Campus on Friday, October 26 and Saturday, October 27, meeting the Lakers for the first time at in Celina, Ohio. From there, the Thoroughbreds will head to Hillsboro, OH, to finish the opening road trip at Southern State Community College on Oct. 28.

Wright State University - Lake Campus is one of ten first-time opponents on the schedule, followed by Southern State Community College, Apprentice School, Saint Andrews University, Guilford College, Montreat College, Bluefield College, Patrick Henry Bible College, Sandhills Community College, Vance Granville Community College, and Warren Wilson Community College.

BLC will protect the “Barn House” at Hope Community Church Gymnasium in first home game, on Tuesday, November 13th against Barber-Scotia College. The Thoroughbreds will then travel to Sanford, NC and Laurinburg, NC before the Thanksgiving break. They will take on a tough Central Carolina Community College on Nov. 16, and Saint Andrews University JV squad on November 18. This will be the first meeting between Saint Andrews and the Thoroughbreds and a redemption match with Central Carolina Community College.

BLC will return from thanksgiving break with another home contest on November 27, when it faces Carolina Christian College at 7pm at Hope Community Church in Apex, North Carolina.

The Thoroughbreds will then start a tough seven game road schedule, seeing them travel up 85 North to visit Stratford University in Newport News, VA on November 29 at 7:30pm. The Thoroughbreds will have a couple days off before it jumps on the road again and travel to see Guilford College-JV team on Dec. 6, Mount Olive College- JV on Dec. 9. BCU will then travel to Appalachian Bible College on Dec. 13, Montreat College-JV on Dec. 17, South Carolina Faith A&M College on Dec. 22 and wrapping up the road trip they travel to Concord, NC to face Barber-Scotia College on Jan. 5.

Blue Lights College will face many tough games against NCAA JV and Community College programs, however, the Thoroughbreds look to face some of their most challenging opponents when they meet teams from the United States Collegiate Athletic Association, which includes Wright State University-Lake Campus, Apprentice, Stratford University, Warren Wilson College, and Patrick Henry College

The Thoroughbreds will wrap up there season in a strongly competitive end of the year Tournament starting March 7-9 at Georgia NW Technical College.
