Coach Blake Risk has just released BLC's inaugural wrestling schedule, and it's loaded with major schools up and down the east coast. In addition, the Thoroughbreds will immediately jump into the fire of competition in their opening season, joining the National Collegiate Wrestling Association and the Mid-Atlantic Wrestling Conference.
Highlighting the Herd's first season on the mat:
• The initial match on Saturday Nov. 3 in the Virginia Beach Nationals Open, featuring NCWA top-ranked Apprentice
• The Wolfpack Open at NC State on November 18
• Hosting East Carolina on December 2 with a return visit on February 17, 2019
• Two more trips to Apprentice January 20 and February 2
• The Mid-Atlantic Conference Tournament at Liberty University on March 2
• The NCWA Grand Nationals March 14-16 in Allen, Texas
“We are very excited about this first season,” says Risk. “The Mid-Atlantic is the toughest conference in the whole NCWA. Liberty University won the Nationals and Apprentice took 2nd in Nationals last year. Both are in our conference.”
