Jorge Garcia poured in a school-record 45 points, including 10 3-pointers, to lead Blue Lights past South Carolina Faith A&M 106-81 to close out the Thoroughbreds' inaugural basketball season Saturday afternoon in Apex.

The guard from Cleveland, Ohio had 30 before intermission, matching his total output in Friday's 90-72 loss at Mid-Atlantic Christian. As the Herd (7-16) raced out to a 28-point bulge at the break, 57-29, the Bulls (7-4) had no answer for either Garcia's quickness inside nor his shooting prowess, leaving him open to run roughshod from beyond the arc.

"My teammates realize that I'm the hot man right now and are doing a good job of getting me the ball," Garcia said after the game. "I'm working to distribute the ball to move the defense and get the open shot."

The win was a complete team effort with five of BLC's seven players scoring in double digits. Forward Duraae' Rucker came off the bench to post a season-high 18 points in a very solid showing. Djuan Coleman scored 14, Dom Hunter added 12, and Mike Maxwell chipped in 11 for BLC.

Quante Hearn came off the bench to lead SC FAM with 22 points.

The Thoroughbreds now await a possible post-season tournament bid.
