THOROUGHBREDS LOOK TO FINISH STRONG

Thoroughbreds Look to Finish Strong

FACING QUICK TURNAROUND FRIDAY AND SATURDAY

. | 2/22/2018

With just two games remaining in their inaugural basketball season, the Blue Lights College Thoroughbreds hope to end on a high note with back-to-back games. Friday night, the Herd travels to Mid-Atlantic Christian, the site of their first win back on October 28. Then on Saturday, they round out their schedule hosting South Carolina Faith A&M at Thales Academy in Apex.

While the Men in Blue were able to break Central Penn's pressure in Monday night's game, their three-point game let them down. "Teams have lately been pressing us and playing zone against us, and it has caused us some trouble scoring the basketball," said head coach Zack Hendricks. "We have been getting good looks but have not been connecting. We need to be aggressive when breaking the press to help with easier buckets."

"We have been getting a lot of shots up this week to help us with our floor spacing," he added.

MACU presents size matchup problems with a tall back line. SC FAM matches up better for BLC but will counter with quickness.

Friday's game tips at 7:00 pm in Elizabeth City. Saturday's game at Thales starts at 2:00 pm. Tickets are $3.00 at the door. Thales Academy is located at 1300 N. Salem Street, Apex.
