The Blue Lights College men’s basketball team opens the final week of the season against one of the strongest teams it has faced all year. Central Penn is a perennial contender in the USCAA Division 2 and comes into tonight’s game in Elizabeth City, NC brandishing a number 3 ranking and riding an impressive nine-game win streak.

“We need to make sure and control the tempo,” according to head coach Zach Hendricks. “We need to be able to handle their pressure and take care of the basketball.”

Indeed. Over the last nine games, the Knights (16-9) have averaged 90 points per game and a winning margin of 37. Five Knights average in double figures.

The Thoroughbreds (6-14) are coming off a big win of their own, 94-39 at Appalachian Bible.

Rounding out the season, the Herd return to the coast to face Mid-Atlantic Christian this Friday and return to Apex to host SC FAM on Saturday.
